The styling tips section alone saved me from a bad oversized-on-oversized outfit 🙈
I grabbed this expecting surface-level brand worship, but the business breakdown with the revenue streams table actually taught me something. The way it connects Crocs collabs and Fortnite partnerships to audience expansion made the strategy click for me.
Quick, visual, and packed with real brand history.
Really liked how the controversy section doesn't shy away from Balenciaga's provocative side but frames it as deliberate strategy. The case studies on Triple S and the Fall 2020 meme campaign were my favorite parts.
I've been into streetwear-luxury crossover stuff for a couple years but never understood why Balenciaga prices felt justified until I read through the target market and consumer behavior section. It reframed the whole thing as buying into cultural experience rather than just fabric. The timeline from Cristóbal's 1919 boutique all the way to Demna's oversized era gave me a whole new respect for the lineage. Shared it with my boyfriend who's been skeptical about the brand and even he admitted the design philosophy breakdown was solid.
🔥👟✨⭐
Great overview of campaigns and celebrity endorsements, though I wish the Rihanna and Travis Scott section went deeper 🤷♀️ The AI prompts at the end were a fun bonus I wasn't expecting.
The proportion advice is legit — oversized top, slim bottom 👌
The milestones table made the brand's evolution so easy to follow. Loved that it didn't skip the dormancy period between Cristóbal's era and Ghesquière's revival.
❤️🖤👗💯🔥
Solid content on the history and the streetwear-meets-couture identity, and the section on how controversy functions as a branding tool was thought-provoking. I docked a star because the styling mistakes part felt thin — three bullet points isn't enough when you're telling people how to actually wear the brand 💬 The MidJourney prompt examples were a cool touch though. Would read an expanded version.
Learned more about Demna's impact here than from fashion blogs.
The branding section nails why Balenciaga campaigns feel so different — irony, surreal visuals, and meme energy over traditional glamour. I keep coming back to the Fall 2021 masked models example.
👍⭐🧥
I picked this up because I was about to drop serious money on my first Balenciaga sneakers and wanted to understand what I was buying into. The evolution section gave me context I didn't have — I had no idea the house went dormant before its 2000s comeback. Reading about how Triple S sneakers launched a whole collector culture made me feel less impulsive about my purchase. The consumer behavior breakdown was almost too accurate about how I shop — scrolling TikTok, engaging online first, then buying. One thing I'd improve is more visual examples alongside the case studies; the text descriptions are great but side-by-side campaign images would elevate it 🔥 Still, the AI tools section at the end got me experimenting with mood boards on Canva, which I never would've tried otherwise.
The revenue streams table is a smart addition — breaks down exactly where the money flows. Pairing that with the digital and experiential strategy section shows Balenciaga isn't just coasting on hype.
Wish the celebrity endorsement section covered more recent names, but the Kanye and Kim analysis still holds up.
