Cross-checked a reseller listing against the official LV site like this suggested and caught a fake instantly.
The warning about hidden fees was a wake-up call. I almost bought from a consignment site that charged $85 in handling on top of the listed price. This checklist trained me to read the fine print first, every time.
Short, sharp, and genuinely helpful — saved it to my phone immediately.
The serial number check tip gave me the confidence to finally buy pre-owned.
I've been burned twice buying LV from Instagram sellers. Both times the stitching looked fine in photos but felt wrong in person. Found this checklist after the second time and now I run through every single point before I even consider a purchase. The part about comparing with official styles on the LV website is so simple but I never thought to do it. Haven't made a bad buy since.
Wish the style section had more detail on matching specific bag shapes to body types. The wardrobe matching tip is useful but felt incomplete. Still glad I read it.
Perfect pre-shopping gut check.
The question about daily carry vs statement piece completely reframed how I shop now 👏
❤️👜✅
Told my sister to stop impulse-buying LV and sent her this instead. She thanked me a week later after dodging a sketchy deal.
The condition and warranty section is brief but I wish it explained what LV actually covers. I had to Google their repair policy separately. The rest of the checklist is on point though — especially the budgeting reminders.
Concise enough to use on the spot, thorough enough to matter.
Before this I was pricing bags without factoring in tax or shipping and always ended up over budget. The tip about including those in your max spend sounds obvious in hindsight but nobody ever spells it out. My last two purchases came in right where I planned.
This should come standard with every first LV purchase.
Quick read, real value — no padding.
I printed this out, laminated it, and keep it in my bag when I go shopping. My friends laugh but I've never been the one stuck with a bad purchase. Last month one of them bought a wallet from a pop-up that turned out to be fake. Now she wants her own copy of the checklist.
The reminder that LV rarely offers massive discounts needs to be on a billboard somewhere.
Good bones but too short — I wanted deeper guidance on what to look for in pre-owned condition specifically. Corner wear, patina color, zipper function, that kind of thing. What's here is accurate though.
Straightforward and no-nonsense.
The style and needs section made me pause and actually think about why I wanted the bag. Realized I was chasing a trend instead of buying something I'd actually use. Ended up picking a different model entirely and I carry it every single day now. That one question about daily use versus statement piece saved me from an expensive regret.
Solid checklist — I reference the authentication points before every resale purchase.
Grabbed this before my trip to Paris and went into the Champs-Élysées store actually prepared.
The material inspection tip is underrated — once you know what real LV leather feels like, fakes become obvious. This checklist put that on my radar.
Good for absolute beginners but if you've bought LV before you already know most of this. The budget section is universally useful though.
I used to just walk into a store and point at whatever caught my eye. This made me slow down, think about wardrobe fit, check my budget, and actually compare options. My closet thanks me.
Five steps, zero fluff, one smarter shopper.
Shared it in my group chat and three friends downloaded it before lunch 🙌
The tip about checking multiple sources before buying is simple but effective. I found a $300 price difference on the same bag between two reputable resellers just by shopping around. This checklist is the reason I even thought to compare.
Helpful starting point but could use a visual reference for what good stitching vs bad stitching looks like. Written descriptions only go so far. Still a worthwhile download for the budgeting and shopping strategy parts.
Clean, practical, and respects my time.
My mom got scammed on a fake Speedy from an online marketplace two years ago. The logos looked right in the listing photos but the hardware was hollow and the leather smelled like chemicals. I found this checklist afterward and we went through it together. She bought a pre-owned Alma last month using every step here and it turned out to be completely authentic. Verified it at the boutique. Night and day difference in how she shops now.
Love that it tells you to ask about warranty and repairs — nobody talks about that.
This is what I needed before my first purchase, not after 😅
Decent overview with the essentials covered. Would love a version that goes deeper into each section — maybe with links to reference photos or official LV resources. As a quick gut-check before buying, it does the job well.
The budget section alone prevents impulse buying.
⭐👜💯🤎
I go through this mentally now before every luxury purchase, not just LV. The framework works for any high-end brand.
Sent this to my daughter heading off to college — she's been eyeing her first LV piece and I wanted her to be smart about it. She called me after reading it and we had a great conversation about budgeting and authenticity. Small document, big impact.
The 'too good to be true' warning is spot on and I wish I'd seen it sooner.
It's short enough that I actually use it, which says a lot. Most guides I download and forget. This one stays open on my phone every time I browse resale listings.
Handy but I wanted a section on seasonal releases and when to buy for the best selection. What's included is accurate and useful — just felt like one piece was missing.
Ran through the checklist at a consignment shop and passed on a wallet that failed three of the checks. Staff confirmed it was flagged as suspicious. This works.
Bookmarked, screenshotted, and shared.
I used to think checking serial numbers was only for paranoid shoppers. Then I found a listing where the serial format didn't match the model year at all. This checklist made me look, and looking saved me over a thousand dollars. The whole thing takes two minutes to read but the habits it builds last.
Exactly what a nervous first-time buyer needs in their pocket.
Covers the basics well and doesn't waste your time. Appreciated the pre-owned condition reminder — that's where most people get tripped up.
Practical, honest, and actually usable — rare combo for a freebie.
The wardrobe matching tip stopped me from buying a third monogram piece when what I actually needed was something in Damier to balance my collection. Simple question, completely changed my decision.
Wish every luxury brand had something like this.
